A monitoring and evaluation visit was conducted for interns in Northern Malaysia from 21 to 24 July 2026. The main objective of the visit was to reconnect with the interns, assess their overall progress, and provide them with an opportunity to share their academic experiences and personal development throughout their studies. During the visit, the interns openly discussed the challenges they faced, including academic, personal, and adjustment-related issues. These discussions allowed the YEF team to better understand their needs while offering appropriate guidance, encouragement, and support.
The visit also served as an important platform to strengthen relationships between the interns, their peers, and the YEF team. Through meaningful conversations and interactive engagement, the sessions fostered a sense of belonging, encouraged mutual support among interns, and reinforced YEF’s commitment to their educational journey and overall well-being.
As part of the program, the YEF team hosted meals with the interns and provided groceries. This informal gathering created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing interns to interact comfortably with the YEF team while building friendships with each other. The relaxed atmosphere also encourages open communication, allowing trainees to express their opinions, exchange experiences, and build stronger relationships within the YEF community.
Overall, the monitoring and evaluation visits are a meaningful and rewarding experience for everyone involved. In addition to assessing the trainees’ progress, they also strengthen the relationship between YEF and its trainees while reaffirming the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people throughout their educational journey. By providing ongoing guidance, encouragement, and a network of support, YEF remains dedicated to empowering its trainees to overcome challenges, achieve their aspirations, and develop into confident, responsible, and future-ready leaders.
